1.5 Support and enhance the next generation of agricultural, food and rural entrepreneurs.

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF) recognizes the importance of new entrants and rural entrepreneurs in the agriculture and agri-food business to sustain Alberta’s farming vitality. Under Strategy 1.5 in the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan, AF is committed to maintaining Alberta’s farming population by encouraging new generations to take farming, agrifood processing or agribusiness as their vocation. This is being accomplished through programs and services including government-funded loan programs, training, and enhanced extension services.
