  • The purpose of the Irrigation Districts Act is to provide for the formation, dissolution and governance of Alberta’s thirteen irrigation districts in order that the management and delivery of water in the districts occur in an efficient manner that provides for the needs of the users
  • The powers and duties of Irrigation Council, the irrigation districts, the irrigation district board of directors and the Irrigation Secretariat are specified in the Act
