A very common example of cross contamination is using the same cutting board to cut raw chicken and ready-to-eat foods such as vegetables for a salad.
  • Keep raw meat, seafood, poultry and other foods separate from each other.
  • Throw raw eggs shells away and wash any areas where raw eggs are used with soapy water.
  • When barbecuing, use clean utensils and plates when taking food off the grill, to prevent food from being contaminated by raw juices.
