| Since he began farming in Millet in 1918, Mr. Young worked for better social and economic conditions for the rural community. He was a director and vice president of the Alberta Farmers Union. He also served as a director of the Alberta Federation of Agriculture and as a director of the Interprovincial Farm Union Council. In addition, he has been active in Unifarm and rural electrification programs.
