| Elizabeth Pedersen earned a reputation as an effective and accomplished organizer in farm, community and national organizations. A teacher by training, Mrs. Pedersen farmed with her husband near Standard, Alberta, where her commitments soon extended beyond local church and community groups. She was an executive member of the National Unifarm Organization and president of Women of Unifarm. She was active on numerous provincial and federal boards and commissions on education, consumer affairs and the status of women, and served on the University of Calgary Senate. These commitments highlighted an impressive career of service to the rural way of life.
