| Mabel Hamilton has been a producer of purebred Angus cattle for 35 years, as well as being a recognized and respected leader in the Alberta and Canadian beef industry. As one of the founding members and past chair of the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency, Mabel played a huge role in the establishment of Canada’s national cattle identification program. She worked with advertising and promotion as a Beef Information Centre director and then chairperson. Her leadership helped refocus the organization and advance consumer education and beef promotion. She served as a Canadian Cattlemen’s Association board member, and she was one of the first women ever elected to this national industry organization. As president of the Canadian Angus Association, Mabel was at the helm when the Angus breed experienced exceptional growth to become one of the largest and most influential beef breeds in Canada. Mabel’s record of outstanding leadership at the provincial, national and international level has truly earned her a place among the giants.
