 Return to Food Safety Information for Consumers

  • Refrigerate leftovers within two hours of preparation.
  • Food meant to be cold, is served cold.
  • Thaw frozen food in the refrigerator. Place a pan or cookie sheet underneath to catch any juices and to prevent them from dripping.
  • Don’t leave groceries in trunk of car for an extended period, especially during hot weather. Plan your stops so that grocery shopping is your last stop!
