Easier access to affordable healthier foods
and healthier eating are essential components of improving the overall health of Albertans.

Meat Research Program (MRP) Extension Specialist
This is a three year research extension pilot program in conjunction with the MRP at the Food Processing Development Center.

A Meat Research Extension Specialist position will provide Extension and
Communications support to the Healthy & Enhanced Meat Product Research
Program at the Food Processing Development Centre. This position will promote this program's capabilities, transfer existing research to industry, and identify industry innovation priorities thereby attracting increased industry aligned research projects.

Marketing Nutrition: an interactive workbook to assist food processors in creating and applying healthy eating messages. This interactive pdf workbook will enable small and medium sized processors of wholesome Alberta food products to tap a marketing advantage by developing and effectively promoting healthy eating messages to their target markets. It works great on tablets too!

On-line video learning support for the Marketing Nutrition workbook accompanies the interactive pdf.

Cost of Managing Allergen-Free Programs

See the series of three videos to help food manufacturers assess the opportunities and minimize the risks associated with producing these products. The series includes testing regimens that will ensure products going to market are allergen free.
