 The Food Science and Technology Centre is equipped with a Werner & Pfleiderer ZSK- 57 co-rotating twin screw extruder and ancillary equipment for milling, dry blending, pre-conditioning, cutting, drying and cooling.

The Food Science and Technology Centre handles product and process development on a wide range of crops based products including: ready to eat breakfast cereals, snack foods, texturized vegetable proteins, snack bars, pet food, feeds for livestock, aquaculture and specialty diets and functional food applications.

Our clients have the opportunity to explore new ideas, processing methods, and to produce new experimental foods/feeds/fibres in quantities sufficient for large projects or test market quantities. The Centre’s extruder is also available for interim production of pet food and feed products.
