Program Details

Anyone providing a pesticide application service in Alberta requires a Pesticide Service Registration from Alberta Environment. Registered services must have at least one certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator at each operation location.

Companies retailing registered pesticides at their retail outlets are required to have at least one certified Commercial Pesticide Dispenser.

Alberta Environment, in cooperation with Lakeland College, has authorized a training program to prepare prospective candidates for the certificate exam. Training may be provided by completing the
Homestudy Course independently, along with an optional tutorial offered by several institutions. These classroom tutorials are intended to reinforce the candidate's understanding of the homestudy course material by means of discussions, presentations and lectures. To obtain the maximum benefit from the tutorials, course materials should be reviewed thoroughly prior to attending.
