As mentioned in an earlier program, effective December 1, some antimicrobials for livestock will require a prescription from a veterinarian. Dr. Keith Lehman, chief provincial veterinarian with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, explains how producers can prepare for the change and some important distinctions between injectable and in-feed use.

Interview with Dr. Keith Lehman (3:00 minutes) (1.36 Mb)

For more information, go to the website of the chief provincial veterinarian. Tomorrow Dr. Lehman discusses some misconceptions about the changes to access of certain antimicrobials.
