Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF) in partnership with Global Affairs Canada and the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago organized the 8th annual Taste of Canada (ToC) event held in Chicago, Illinois on October 30, 2018.

ToC is the only pan-Canada food showcase event designed to support the expansion of Canadian food suppliers into the U.S. market.

The event provides a forum for AF and its partners to facilitate opportunities for Canadian companies to have a table top display to promote products and conduct business-to-business meetings with U.S. buyers, discuss capabilities, review buyers’ needs and identify business opportunities.

Forty-five companies were showcased this year coming from seven provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Export Development Canada was profiled as well.

Eleven Alberta companies participated - the largest to date - and a record of 460 recorded meetings and introductions between Canadian companies and buyers.
