The date of the first fall frost is when the fall daily minimum temperature drops below 0°C for the first time. The average first fall frost date occurs between September 11 and 20 in most of the province's agricultural areas. However, in some years, the first fall frost may occur in August in the agricultural region. Reports of frost before September 1 are common in non-agricultural areas and the mountains.
