 Objective
To encourage Alberta high school students to choose a career in agricultural or environmental sciences, and to financially assist them while attending an agricultural or environmental science related program related to the duties of Agricultural Fieldmen at a post-secondary institution.

Procedure
  1. Bursaries are available to students continuing their education at a College or University. Students must be enrolled in an agricultural or environmental science program.
  2. One $500 bursary is available in each calendar year for each of the 5 provincial regions of the AAAF. An Agricultural Fieldman in good standing with the AAAF must receive applications, with all supporting documentation, by September 1 st.
  3. Each student may obtain a bursary only once.
  4. Applicants must be Alberta residents. Applicants residing in the province but attending school outside the province are eligible, and should apply to their local municipal Ag. Fieldman.
  5. The applicant is required to supply a copy of their marks from the last year of high school attendance, together with a letter of acceptance and course of studies planned at a post-secondary institution. The applicant, if chosen, shall supply a photo to the AAAF for inclusion in the Association newsletter.
  6. The AAAF shall award bursaries on a regional basis upon the consensus of the Agricultural Fieldmen in each region, based on scholastic standing, social and community activities, and chosen program of study. Their decision is final. Prior to contacting the successful applicant, the AAAF Regional Directors shall ensure that the successful applicant has not been awarded a AAAF Memorial Bursary in another region.
  7. High school graduates just entering their post-secondary studies will be given priority over students in subsequent year’s studies.
  8. Application forms and terms of reference will be provided to all high schools in Alberta.
* Completed Applications, together with the required supporting information, should be forwarded to the Agricultural Fieldman in the closest rural municipality. For a list of municipalities, see the Membership Directory.
