 Alberta is a leader in the development and production of innovative and sustainably-produced forest products. Lumber, pulp, newsprint, wood panels and engineered wood products produced in Alberta are destined for markets in Canada, the United States, Asia Pacific and Europe.

Alberta's Forest Products Buyers Guide

The Buyers Guide is a valuable source of information on the province's forest product sector. It delves into the characteristics and properties of Alberta's principal wood species and their use in construction, decorative and industrial applications. The guide also provides an overview of the province's forest practices, product certification programs and grading and standards systems.

Alberta Wood Products

Agriculture and Forestry has a web portal designed to put Alberta forest product manufacturers in touch with potential customers in Asia. The portal provides information on the different types of forest products available from Alberta, explanations of tree species and grades of lumber, and contact information for individual producers. Content is available in four different languages: English, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean.

BC Wood

BC Wood is a not-for-profit association that works with wood based manufacturing companies in Western Canada to enhance their market opportunities in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Japan, South Korea and China. The organization connects Canadian companies with buyers in these countries to increase the volume and value of Canadian based products and exports.

Canada Wood

The objective of Canada Wood is to expand offshore export opportunities of Canadian wood products in traditional and emerging markets by supporting industry associations in their efforts to work collaboratively overseas and by promoting the “Team Canada” approach to market development.

Canadian Wood Council

The Canadian Wood Council (CWC) is the national association representing manufacturers of Canadian wood products used in construction. Alberta is an active participant in CWC activities, including market development in China and other global markets.

Wood WORKS!
Wood WORKS! is a national campaign to increase the use of wood in commercial, industrial, and institutional construction. Alberta Wood WORKS! develops case studies and hosts a variety of events, workshops, and seminars in order to disseminate information on wood use in construction.
