2009 Farm Related Fatalities

There were a total of 13 farm work related fatalities for 2009.

Of the 13, eight were over 60 years, one was a child, and there were 12 males.
Five of the fatalities involved farm tractors.

5	June 4	6	M	Ponoka	Brain Injury	Blunt trauma to head, likely kicked by horse, laceration under right jaw
6	July 4	76	F	Barrhead	Crush injury of abdomen	Was crushed against a fence by a bull
7	July 28	28	M	Sexsmith	Multiple trauma, motor vehicle collision	Was driving farm tractor on highway and was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer and thrown from tractor
8	August 7	67	M	Leduc	Blunt cranial trauma (hemorrhaging) and fractured hip	History of multiple myeloma, slipped in barn.
