Watershed Selection Report for AESA Stream Survey | |

| | This report documents the process used to select the 23 watersheds being monitored under the AESA Program and describes these watersheds in relation to provincial and regional variability in agricultural production intensity, and soil, landscape and climate conditions.
The comprehensive site selection process accounted for the range in intensity of agriculture in Alberta, the variability in climate, soils and runoff, and the differences between irrigated and dryland agriculture. The sites are monitored regularly and water samples are analyzed for nutrients, pesticides and bacteria.
