AB Cattlelac is a general purpose barley with:
  • higher forage yield than Vivar (8%)
  • higher test weight than checks
  • resistance to surface borne and loose smuts

AB Cattlelac is available through Alliance Seed.

Strengths of AB Cattlelac:
  • Grain yield similar to AC Ranger and Vivar
  • Forage yield is 8% higher than Vivar and 5% higher than AC Ranger
  • Higher percent plumps than AC Ranger
  • Higher test weight than checks
  • Lodging resistance better than AC Ranger
  • Resistant to the surface-borne smuts
  • Moderately resistant to spot blotch and spotted net-blotch
  • Intermediate resistance to scald, stem rust and loose smut
