Staff in the Agri-Food Trade Service Regional office can provide services and information regarding:
- Market access.
- Provide links with information on the impact of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements, and associated market opportunities and constraints.
- Assist in resolving local trade irritants and move regional irritants to national resolutions.
- Assist in regional resolution of interprovincial trade issues and activities.
- Market development.
- Provide analysis of domestic and international market demand, consumer trends and opportunities.
- Identify export-ready companies and products, as well as facilitate buyer/seller relationships.
- Conduct seminars and workshops on geographical markets, specific product markets and strategic partnership alliances.
- Provide regional delivery of AAFC and other federal government programs and services to expand the international marketing capability of agri-food clients.
- Co-ordinate domestic market development activities e.g., incoming buying missions and outgoing selling missions.
- Provide access to the Market and Industry Service Branch and other departmental services.
- Maintain non-government organization and company-specific profiles and databases and provide regional information on industry structure and performance.
- Investment: Assist federal and provincial partners in attacting and retaining international and domestic investment into the Canadian food sector.
