  A person must register and obtain a licence under the Alberta Vegetable Growers (Processing) Production and Marketing Regulation to grow vegetables for the processed vegetable market.

A person must apply to the Alberta Vegetable Growers (Processsing) Board for a registration number to be eligible to contract with a processor to grow vegetables. A registered producer may apply to the Alberta Vegetable Growers (Processing) Board for a producer licence.

A registered producer must hold a separate producer's licence for each contract held with a processor.

A person operating as a producer and as a processor must obtain a producer licence and a processor licence.
