Agency:
Delivered through the Canadian Farm Business Advisory Services program, this service will be available to producers who are considering establishing or expanding a value-added enterprise. PAVE will fund the preparation of feasibility assessments and business plans for projects that demonstrate that they add value to primary product. Counseling on the use of the business plan will also be provided.
Eligible value-added activities include projects that clearly demonstrate that they add value to the primary product and agricultural products manufacturing (projects that require the value to be added to primary products through mechanical manipulation including separation, grading, cleaning and packaging of product). Non-food and food processing activities are also considered to be value-added. Also eligible are value-added projects that may include on- and off-farm activities. For program details and an application, visit the PAVE web page.
