The Alberta 4-H Hall of Fame honours Albertans who have made exceptional contributions to the 4-H program in this province through outstanding leadership and/or have made significant impact on 4-H youth and/or leaders.

Program Details
 
 
  Annually up to 2 nominees (individuals, couples or groups) will be selected to join the other Albertans who have been honoured since the Hall of Fame was initiated in 1971. Nominees may have served the 4-H program in Alberta as a volunteer or as a professional. Responsibilities and impact on 4-H, as well as involvement in other community organizations and activities will be taken into consideration. The deadline for submitting nominations is September 1, 2018

Who can be nominated?
Nominees may have served the 4-H program in Alberta as a volunteer or as a professional. Responsibilities and impact on 4-H, as well as involvement in other community organizations and activities will be taken into consideration.

Who can nominate someone to the Alberta 4-H Hall of Fame?

Groups or individuals are invited to submit a nomination by 4:00 p.m. on September 1, 2018. Late or incomplete nomination packages will not be considered by the Selection Committee.

Step One - Complete each section of the attached nomination form which includes:

  • Nominee and Nomination Information
  • Introduction of the Nominee – Identify outstanding leadership contributions and how significant impact was accomplished
  • 4-H Involvement
Applicable Community Involvement – Youth-focused or involving leadership development
Step Two - Include Letters of Support:
  • Three letters of support from individuals, groups or council/committees who have volunteered with or worked with the nominee within the Alberta 4-H program at the club, district, regional or provincial levels. The letters of support must be signed or verified that they came from the originator. Each letter should be no longer than one page, and using no less than a 10 font size.
  • Please ensure that your club, district or region are aware that this nomination has been made.

Who sits on the Selection Panel?
A selection committee, comprised in whole or in part of representatives from the Government of Alberta, 4-H Council of Alberta and 4-H Foundation of Alberta, will make a recommendation to the 4-H Section who will forward the choices to senior Government of Alberta officials. Alberta Agriculture and Forestry will make the official announcement of the inductees.
