The Private Sector Liaison Officers Network  - Agriculture Sector Meeting

The Private Sector Liaison Officers (PSLO) Network is initiating this joint mission focusing on agricultural sector opportunities at International Financial Institutions (IFIs). The PSLO’s mission will provide an effective means to showcase Alberta agricultural expertise to key influencers and stakeholders in the region, assist Alberta companies to increase their market intelligence and readiness to participate in agricultural projects around the world as well as continue to foster collaborative relationships with IFIs. Canadian Food Ingredients Mission

Alberta ingredient suppliers are invited to participate in the Canadian Food Ingredients Mission; this two-day program will provide Canadian ingredient suppliers the opportunity to gain insights into the US market and meet face-to-face with targeted Minnesota-based processors. Ideal suppliers for this mission include those marketing value-added ingredients, niche commodities and innovative ingredient technologies; commodity trading companies may also join. Agri-Food Processing Lenders Conference
October 20 - 21, 2016 – Nisku, AB
Alberta Agriculture and Forestry is hosting an Agri-Food Processing Lenders Conference at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Nisku.
The conference will have learning and networking opportunities for both lenders and agri-food processors. Lenders will be able to learn more about the agri-food processing industry and the challenges and opportunities it presents. Agri-Food processors will get a better understanding of what their lenders are looking for and how to be better prepared for discussions about their businesses when trying to obtain financing.

Update to Method of Production Claims for Meat, Poultry and Fish Products
The criteria for making natural, naturally raised, feed, antibiotic and hormone claims in labelling or advertising for meat, poultry and fish products have been updated. These criteria have been incorporated into the Method of Production Claims for Meat, Poultry and Fish Products section in the Method of Production Claims page of the Industry Labelling Tool.
