 The long hard winter this year has increased the amount of feed cattle have consumed compared to a more “normal” winter. Barry Yaremcio, beef forage specialist at the Ag-Info Centre, says the combination of higher feed requirements due to weather and feed shortages in some parts of the province, is forcing some producers to turn cows out onto frozen dormant pastures.
