Bill 50, the Electric Statutes Amendment Act, has generated a number of questions, particularly from landowners. To find out how landowners may be affected, we’re speaking with Energy Minister Mel Knight.

Interview with Mel Knight (2:33 minutes) (627 Kb)

If you have questions regarding Bill 50, and specifically landowners’ rights, there are a number of factsheets available on Alberta Energy’s website, www.energy.alberta.ca. The Alberta Utilities Commission also has a brochure entitled, “Public Involvement in Facilities Applications,” which is available on its website, www.auc.ab.ca. This brochure is also available through Alberta Energy’s website. You can also call Alberta Energy’s Public Information Centre at 780-427-0265, which is accessible through the RITE line by dialing 310-0000 first.
