Pastures and hay fields have been very stressed this year. What moisture comes between now and spring will be crucial to what producers can expect in forage production in 2010. Grant Lastiwka, grazing beef forage specialist at the Ag Info Centre, says how these stressed forages are managed in 2009 will also be a key factor in forage stand responses next year. I spoke with Lastiwka about what can be done to help rejuvenate these pastures and hayfields and make them more productive.
