New numbers from the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association reveal a significant drop in the number of farm- related deaths over the last 16 years. The group says the decline in annual fatalities can be attributed to improved awareness of the dangers faced on the farm each day, better safety practices and an increase in farm safety education for young people. Agriculture professionals, researchers, producers, suppliers and manufacturers are to meet in Fredericton next month to discuss how to further reduce agricultural fatalities and injuries.
