 Alberta companies are invited to join Alberta Agriculture and Forestry’s Innovation and Smart Agriculture Mission to Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana, on November 18 to 26, 2017. The mission will include meetings with the World Bank Group, the African Development Bank and regional stakeholders as well as a walking program at the Salon International De L’Agriculture et Des Ressources Animales D’Abidjan (SARA).

“This mission will profile Alberta as a leader in sustainable agricultural innovations around the areas of climate smart agriculture, precision agriculture and innovative agricultural practices,” says Samuel Boateng, international initiatives officer, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry.

“Companies will gain an understanding of project requirements and constraints as well as their level of competitiveness in accessing World Bank and African Development Bank financed projects and programs in the region. The mission will showcase Alberta agricultural expertise to key influencers and stakeholders, and assist Alberta companies increase their market intelligence and readiness to participate in international agricultural projects and foster collaborative relationships with the World Bank and African Development Bank,” says Boateng.

To be eligible to participate in this mission, participating companies should be consultants, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, training institutions or universities that are interested in and capable of providing services to international agricultural projects.

There is no fee to participate in the program; however, companies are responsible for payment of their own travel expenses and any other related costs.

Participating companies may be reimbursed for their participation for 1/2 of the actual designated participation costs, up to a maximum C$2,000. Reimbursement is to help offset a portion of their travel expenses including airfares and accommodations for one representative per company.

Participants must apply and be approved for financial support prior to the event. Conditions apply. Participating companies will receive details upon application and acceptance.
