The final year of the Controlled Traffic Farming Alberta (CTFA) research project wrapped up in 2016, and the summary reports are now posted on the CTFA website.

These summaries report on:

  • soil quality
  • infiltration, yield and microbial activity
  • economics
  • on-farm research
  • tramline renovation
In addition, eight farmer-cooperator profiles are posted, which outline their experiences in setting up and operating controlled traffic farming systems.

Controlled Traffic Farming Alberta is a farmer-led initiative aimed at evaluating controlled traffic farming systems in Alberta, and is interested in taking no-till and precision agriculture to the next level.
