Agriculture for Life (Ag for Life) has launched the #farmbabies17 photo contest, an Alberta-wide photo contest with over $600 in prizes.

“Our #farmbabies17 contest is a fun way to welcome spring on the farm,” says Luree Williamson, CEO Ag for Life. “Farmers and farm families spend countless hours caring for the new arrivals, and sharing these photos and stories helps to educate Albertan’s about life on the farm and the vital role agriculture plays in our lives. Many people don’t understand the dedication and care that goes into raising livestock. We want to share this story and assist in building public trust.”

Ag for Life will be sharing the entries on its social media streams and then compiling the pictures into a video showing the different breeds of livestock that are raised in Alberta to support their agriculture education programs.

Contest rules:

  • the #farmbabies17 contest is open to all Alberta residents
  • photos can be of any species of farm animal born between January 1 – May 31, 2017
  • all entries must be photographs taken in Alberta
  • contest ends May 31, 2017
  • one grand prize winner will be awarded a selection of goods valued at over $600
