The 2016 edition of Crop Protection, also known as the “Blue Book,” is on sale now, nearly a month earlier than usual. “The Blue Book is updated every year, and provides the most up-to-date information on registered pesticide products,” says Gerard Vaillancourt, director, information management section, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF).

So why the earlier publication date? “We felt it was important to get the Blue Book out earlier than usual, because it’s the right time - producers are starting to make their purchasing decisions now,” says Vaillancourt.

Created with input from the agro-chemical industry, the Blue Book provides objective, detailed information on agricultural pesticides, specifically herbicides, insecticides, seed treatments, and fungicides. “The Book gives you impartial advice on everything available for controlling weeds or protecting crops from diseases and insects. It is the most comprehensive guide for all the products available in the marketplace.”

To order a hard copy of Crop Protection 2016 for only $12, go to AF’s website at www.agriculture.alberta.ca/blue or call 780-427-0391.
