| ||The Alberta Forage Industry Network (AFIN) is holding its AGM next week in Leduc. Christine Fulkerth. chair of the network, says it’s a great opportunity to learn about the industry as well as connect with peers.
“The day will begin with industry updates followed by a presentation of our forage leadership award and then a discussion on strategies to mitigate climate change through forages and grasslands,” Fulkerth says.
AFIN represents a broad spectrum of different industries that are involved with forages and grasslands across Alberta including producers, forage exporters, seed producers and the Agricultural Research and Extension Council of Alberta groups.
Fulkerth says there is ample opportunity to grow the forage industry in Alberta considering its great swaths of usable land.
“We want people to know that there is a value for forages, especially in the export area,” she says.
The Alberta Forage Industry Network’s AGM is Friday, March 4 in Leduc. For more information or to register, go to www.albertaforages.ca
