Disease description
Dark green, dark brown or almost black slippery growth may cover lower parts of plants and soil surface in humid conditions. This may dry up to form a crust. Grass is not killed, but growth may be impaired.

Predisposing factors
    • over-compaction and soil surface smearing by foot traffic or implements, especially on heavier soils
    • poor surface drainage
    • shaded situations
    • heavy applications of high organic amendments
Cultural control
Scarify surface to alleviate problem. Improve soil and drainage. Aerate.

Chemical control
No material registered in Canada.
