| | Work Areas | Information Required for Age Verification Assistance
Age verification staff, are available at specified Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development offices across the province and can input birth information for producers if they bring in their list of tags used and the corresponding with birth dates or calving start date. Either date, start of calving season or exact birth date, are acceptable birth dates for entry into the CCIA Age verficiation (AV) system. RFID tags must be applied to the animals before birth dates are entered into the AV system. It is advisable to call for an appointment and to check that what information is required.
Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development Age Verification Field Staff are able available to assist producers to input birth information. AV field staff are also available by appointment to scan RFID tags that are on calves to help producers determine the RFID numbers on their 2009 calves for inputting into the CCIA age verification data base. Once scanned, the tags will then be downloaded into a field staff’s computer, birth date assigned and the file will be uploaded into the CCIA database. Age verification field staff can leave a file copy of the information that was uploaded for the producer and/or a printed copy of the information. ARD age verification staff can also assist producers with CCIA account activation, or confirm their CCIA account identification number.

Information Required for Age Verification Assistance
All 2009 Calves Must Be Identified and Age Verified.
If you would like Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development, staff to assist you with the “Age Verification” process, please ensure that you bring or fax the following, for more efficient service:
| 1. | A signed CCIA Third Party User Application |
| 2. | Name, Address, Company Name (if incorporated) |
| 3. | Username (only if account already set up) |
| 4. | CCIA account number or CCIA pin number (if you know it) |
| 5. | Legal Land Description (Home quarter) |
| 6. | Phone numbers |
| 7. | Only RFID Tag Numbers that have been applied to an animal can be entered into the age verification database.
- If RFID tags are used consecutively and only on 2009 calves, we only require the starting tag number and ending tag nubmer.
- If not used consecutively, all tag numbers used on animals must be entered. |
| 8. | Start Date of your calving season and end of calving season or all exact birth dates. |
| 9. | Cows and bulls can be age verified if the animals are tagged and the birth records are available showing when the animals were born. |
