Work Areas | Information Required for Age Verification Assistance

Age verification staff, are available at specified Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development offices across the province and can input birth information for producers if they bring in their list of tags used and the corresponding with birth dates or calving start date. Either date, start of calving season or exact birth date, are acceptable birth dates for entry into the CCIA Age verficiation (AV) system. RFID tags must be applied to the animals before birth dates are entered into the AV system. It is advisable to call for an appointment and to check that what information is required.

Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development Age Verification Field Staff are able available to assist producers to input birth information. AV field staff are also available by appointment to scan RFID tags that are on calves to help producers determine the RFID numbers on their 2009 calves for inputting into the CCIA age verification data base. Once scanned, the tags will then be downloaded into a field staff’s computer, birth date assigned and the file will be uploaded into the CCIA database. Age verification field staff can leave a file copy of the information that was uploaded for the producer and/or a printed copy of the information. ARD age verification staff can also assist producers with CCIA account activation, or confirm their CCIA account identification number.
