Premise Identification - On the CCIA Website

 Print off this information for easy reference before starting.

Start the Internet explorer (left click the blue "e" near the Start button at the bottom left of the screen). In the address bar (the white box near the top of the page starting with http:/), remove all the text

1. Type www.clia.livestockid.ca to access the CCIA (Canadian Cattle Identification Agency) website.

2. The welcome to the CCIA web site” screen appears

  • Select option #1. Already have an account… Click here to Log in
  • Place the cursor on the blue text and left click the mouse to obtain the next screen.
3. The “User Login” screen appears.
  • Enter your user name and password.
If you have forgotten your user name or password, call CCIA head office 1-877-909-2333 or if in Alberta call Sarah at 310-3276 to obtain this information.
  • Place the cursor on the “Login” box and left click the mouse.
4. The “Welcome Back” screen appears.
  • Your account name is present.
  • On the brown menu bar located near the top of the screen, left click on “My account.”
5. The “General Account Information” screen appears.
  • Left click on the “Premise” tab in the grey area in the top third of the page.
6. The “Account Premises” screen appears.
  • Left click on “Register Premise” box located at the right hand side of the screen.
7. The “Register Premises: Select Location Information” screen appears.
  • Complete the information for any data line with a red asterisk
  • Select “Province,” use the drop down menu left click the appropriate response
  • Left click on “Next”
8. The “Premises Registration: Stationary Location Form” screen appears.
  • Fill in short name – type in your first and last name.
9. On the same screen go to the “Useage” line.
  • Left click on “update”
  • Left click in the box that represents the category or categories that apply to your situation. For most farmers and ranchers, select “producer.”
  • Scroll down the page and left click on “Ok” at the bottom right hand side of the screen.
10. On the same screen go to “Species: line.
  • Left click on “Update”
  • Left click in the boxes adjacent to any species of animal present in your farm or ranching operation.
  • Scroll down the page and left click on “Ok” at the bottom right hand side of the screen.
11. The “Premise Registration: Stationary Location Form” screen appears. Below the brown “Details” bar near the centre of the page.
  • Enter your legal land description. Fill in the spaces for township, range, and section.
  • Left click on the drop down menu’s to select the proper designation for your “home quarter” location, meridian number and description of “east” or ‘west” of the Meridian line.
  • Enter meridian line number.
  • Left click on “next”

This completes the producer registration process.
