Why Pulses?
Did you know that Canada is the world’s largest producer and exporter of peas and lentils? In 2015 Canada produced 6.6 million tonnes! And let’s not forget they’re grown right here! In Alberta we grow peas, beans, lentils, chick peas and faba beans. Not to mention their nutrient density:
    • Pulses are packed with fibre, protein, vitamins and minerals
    • Pulses reduce risk factors for diabetes and heart disease
    • Pulses benefit agricultural and environmental sustainability
    • Pulses are functional ingredients that are non-GMO and low-allergen risk
