"To support the growth of an environmentally sustainable agriculture industry by addressing the issues related to crop and livestock production systems and practices, animal welfare, and quality water supplies."

Our strategy in support of the purpose statement:
"To resolve issues through applied research, technology development, evaluation of systems and practices, information transfer, application of standards, and administration of legislation."

The Technical Services Division was formed in April, 1999. Primary program areas include animal welfare, engineering research and technology development, confined feeding operations, on-farm water management, and environmental practices in partnership with industry. Programs such as the Water Pumping Program and the andministration of both the Agricultural Operation Practices Act (AOPA), and the Animal Protection Act (APA) are a major focus of the Division.
