Conference Stimulates Thinking and Connects Ideas

AgChoices 2008 - Capturing Opportunities - Conference was held at Red Deer Lodge, the hub of Central Alberta, on February 13, 2008.

150 producers and industry representatives from all over the province listened to guest speakers Dr. David Sparling, David Andersen and Jim Reger deliver key messages on global thinking, new opportunities, marketing and succession planning.

Rory Campbell, Deputy Minister of Alberta Agriculture and Food followed sharing Alberta’s vision for agriculture and the progress on Growing Forward, the new Agricultural Policy Framework (APF).

Proceeding the Deputy Minister, Ag Info Market presented a series of concurrent sessions regarding information and opportunities within APF Renewal and Alberta Agriculture and Food. Producers chose five sessions from a list of 26 topics. Carbon credit offsets, business structures, barley value chains, market opportunities and beef branding were just a few of the topics to choose from.

AgChoices 2008 ended with an invigorating message from Jim Reger on Authentic Leadership.
