Organic food is food either processed or raw, grown under a production system which does not use chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, growth regulators and antibiotics. The organic production system aims to:

  • Minimize pollution, promote health, and optimize biological diversity, while protecting the environment and maintaining long term soil fertility,
  • maintain diversity within the farming system and surroundings,
  • provide high quality production standards equal to or higher than international standards,
  • develop and adopt new technologies with consideration for their long range social and ecological impact,
  • raise livestock in a stress reduced environment without the use of growth hormones or antibiotics.

What is an Audit Trail?

The audit trail is documentation of production and processing procedures or organic product from seed to consumer. The consumer can ask to see the audit documentation to ensure he/she is buying "certified organic".

What is Certified Organic?

"Certified organic" means that a product has been produced n accordance with specific organic standards as established by a certifying agency. The guidelines include an annual third party inspection to ensure an audit trail.

Why Choose to Buy Certified Organic Products?

Organic products are grown or raised without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators, and antibiotics.
Organic farming is based on environmentally sustainable agricultural practices.
Organic livestock management emphasizes stress reduced husbandry practices.
Organic products are good for you and their production good for the environment.

The Choice is Yours!
