Is Your Business Plan Ready?
The following is a checklist to help guide you to the next step in the entrepreneurial process. Although this is not a comprehensive list, consider the following criteria involved in developing a strong business plan. |
The executive summary of your business plan provides an outline of your new venture and highlights its potential
Your business plan details how your company will be managed and owned
Your product or service and its development needs have been fully described
Your business plan provides a sound understanding of your chosen market and target customer base and explains how you will successfully target opportunities in the market
The operational needs of your product or service have been identified such as equipment, facilities, and manpower
You have examined the legal responsibilities of your new venture such as taxation, regulations, permits and licenses
Your business plan details the amount, sources and types of financing that you require, including personal and outside resources
Your business plan is complete with all necessary information such as background information, a marketing plan, an operating plan and financial data
You have gone over your business plan with your partners, family, legal experts and chosen financial lenders
| | After meeting the criteria on this list and with a completed business plan in hand it is time to look into your Financing options. A strong business plan will make it easier for you to obtain any financing that you may require. |
