Agriculture in the Classroom Program

Vision
Our vision is to foster awareness and understanding of agriculture so that future citizens will be prepared to make well informed career choices and responsible decisions regarding the industry.

Program Activities

Curriculum and resource development
We work with Alberta Education and the Agriculture Industry to develop programs of study and educational resources that will engage students in learning more about agriculture in Alberta.

Resource development and distribution
We support the professional development of teachers by providing workshops, and by highlighting industry resources and field trip opportunities. We also support the professional development of pre-service teachers.

Agriculture ambassador program
Alberta Agriculture and Food's marketing and distribution link with practising teachers reaches over 800 Alberta schools.
