 The Agri-Food Laboratories Branch (AFLB) conducts laboratory testing and provides scientific information and advice to inform decision-making and policy discussions about animal heath, food safety and public health in support of the agri-food industry.

The AFLB is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada as a testing laboratory for specific test methods. Testing is performed exclusively for AFLB partners, colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders. Diagnostic services to the public are not available.

The AFLB is committed to excellence in laboratory science. The Branch's scientists possess a high degree of expertise in their fields, and its technologists are highly trained and proficiency tested. The AFLB is equipped with advanced instrumentation and technologies, and all methods are rigorously evaluated and validated prior to being accepted for use.

The AFLB is located in Edmonton, Alberta.
