This Act provides further protections for consumers and dealers of farm implements by imposing certain requirements upon distributors of farm implements. Distributors are prohibited from terminating an agreement with a dealership without cause, without an order of the Court, or without complying with a Court Order. Agreements between distributors and dealers may however be terminated by mutual agreement. Additionally, distributors must not discriminate against dealers in respect of contractual requirements or prices for farm implements of similar grade or quality, or for dealing in the products of competitors.
