| | Global economics, a volatile dollar, and competing proteins – what does this all mean for a cattle herd that is contracting in size? Anne Dunford, general manager of Gateway Livestock, will give her opinion on these topics at a series of seminars being held in the province. The seminars will also feature presentations by Peggy Checkle of PC Ag Ventures on the Cattle Price Insurance Program, Brucy Viney of Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development on assessing feeding and retained ownership opportunities, and federal tax deferral as it relates to herd size reduction.
