Norma Jean Gray was considered the ideal extension worker by her peers, colleagues and the people she served. As a highly skilled district home economist she constantly achieved high professional standards. Recognized as a strong youth advocate, Mrs. Gray was deeply involved with the 4-H movement throughout her career, training many young people en route to national competitions. She served Brooks' citizens in many capacities from being a town councillor to coordinating special events promoting Brooks' business and agricultural communities. In 1973 Norma Jean Gray was named Brooks' 'Citizen of the Year'.
