The inventive genius of Andrew Briosi earned him the respect and thanks of his community, as well as provincial and national recognition. Mr. Briosi spent most of his lifetime in the farm community, first as a sheep rancher and later as an irrigation farmer. Among his many well-known practical farm inventions were the front-end loader and the sugar beet harvester. For his outstanding work on farm and sugar beet machinery, Andrew Briosi was named a member of the Order of Canada in 1975 and was listed in Who's Who in Alberta in recognition of his dedication to agriculture in Alberta. Throughout his lifetime he was active in both agricultural organizations and community groups.
