Bio-Based Chemical Symposium: Connecting the Pieces -- an unprecedented success!
Goals and expectations were met and surpassed at the Bio-based Chemical Symposium held on November 27, 2012 in Calgary. With almost 70 participants in attendance, a wide representation of the bio-based chemical industry (industrial, specialty and clean energy applications) were truly “Connecting the Pieces” and discovering new collaborative opportunities for future success in this emerging bio-based industry.

The Symposium provided an ideal environment and platform where representatives of the industry (private companies, local, provincial and federal government, academia, funders, researchers) came together to learn from high profile speakers, in depth presentations and connect with key industry stakeholders/innovators and leaders, both in their own as well as related industries. The support from BioAlberta at the business exchange & industry roundtable and also the networking reception was very important and provided a unique, effective and energizing platform to exchange ideas, and- as a direct result-- the perfect opportunity for industry to make business connections and collaborations.

More information coming soon!

The symposium was jointly organized by Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development and Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education.
