Rural Utilities Act and Regulation | |

| | This Act provides for the incorporation of Alberta’s rural gas, electric and water utilities. It sets out the requirements for the incorporation of these associations, how the business and the affairs of the associations are to be managed including outlining the powers of the board of directors. It provides government authority to supervise and manage the association in the event of improper conduct by the board or insolvency. It also provides for the issuance of guarantees for borrowings to finance the construction of natural gas services.
