 Stemphylium Leaf Spot (Target Spot)
Stemphylium loti, S. sarciniforme

What to look for?
These pathogens infect clovers and birds-foot trefoil. Leaf spots are irregular, dark brown and surrounded by a pale halo (target spot). Larger spots show concentric rings.

Management strategy
The disease is favoured by wet weather and dense stands. Harvest early to reduce leaf loss.

Winter Crown Rot
Coprinus psychromorbidus

What to look for?
This disease is prevalent in years with good snow cover and late springs. The Coprinus sp. formerly known as the low temperature Basidiomycete, is favoured by snow mold promoting conditions and will frequently kill off the crowns of vigorous trefoil plants.
